It’s harvest time again here at The Grove, and you know what that means – a cornucopia of fresh flowers coming soon to our Las Vegas and Pahrump stores.
The harvest has been completed, the buds have been trimmed, and now we’re just waiting on the curing process. We like to be sure that our products are cured to perfection. Dry enough to make a nice smoke, but moist enough to not crumble and burn up too quickly. The ideal curing process produces a bud that is squishy and springs back when you squeeze it, with just a hint of crunch.
This growing cycle we produced a whopping 1,392 plants and harvested approximately 175 pounds of flower. That took four growers three days of hard work to harvest.
Here’s What’s In The Latest Batch
We’ve grown only our most popular strains this round, and we’re just about ready to send them out to the stores. We’re talking about some really sweet, award-winning strains such as Super Lemon Haze, Gorilla Glue, Northern Lights, and Jamaican Kush.
Here’s a little preview of each of the strains:
Super Lemon Haze
Super Lemon Haze is one of our most prized strains. It’s fast becoming a popular strain among those who prefer a Sativa dominant hybrid. This cannabis Superstrain won First Prize for two consecutive years (2008 and 2009) at the High Times Cannabis Cup. It also earned first prize the following year at the IC420 Growers Cup.
Super Lemon Haze starts with the genetics of Super Silver Haze – which won three consecutive Cannabis Cups in 1997, 1998 and 1999. Throw into the mix of Haze, Skunk #1 and Northern Lights #5, and then cross that with Lemon Skunk, and you’ve got yourself a velvety and potent smoking experience. The percentage of THC in this strain can get as high as a whopping 25 percent.
Lemon Haze offers sweet, flowery aromas with the lemony tastes of Limonene. The mellow buzz begins in the body but quickly moves to the head. The high is energetic and social.
Super Lemon Haze is a great choice for daytime use and for eliminating fatigue, anxiety and stress. It’s also commonly used to help with depression and anxiety, pain, nausea and appetite loss.
Super Lemon Haze’s superpowers include the ability to induce feelings of euphoria, boost creativity, and increaser energy and focus.
Gorilla Glue
Gorilla Glue #4 is one of the most impressive and potent strains in the Gorilla Glue line. It was named by Herb magazine as one of the strongest strains of all time. This euphoric and happy strain is deserving of the accolades and is not for the faint of heart or the newby smoker.
The strong aromas of pine and the dense trichome coverage are a good indicator of this Indica dominant strain’s potency. While GG4 generally runs in the 20-25% THC range, it has been known to contain as much as 30% THC content.
This multi-award-winning strain provides a strong, heady high while deeply relaxing the body. GG4 makes a great happy hour smoke to take the edge of a hard day of work as its effects come on quickly. Although it does have a reputation for inducing couch-lock, many users report an increase in energy. GG4 is often used by people looking for some pain relief.
Northern Lights
We are very excited about this harvest. Northern Lights is an award-winning Indica dominant strain and may well be one of the most popular Indicas of all time. NL5 is one of the purest Indica-dominant hybrids at 95 percent Indica and 5 percent Sativa. Leafly called it one of the most influential strains of all time. Entered into competition in 1989, the strain won the Cannabis Cup in ’89, ’90, and ’92.
With THC content up to 26 percent, this strain has earned its reputation as a “two hit and quit” strain. It packs a heavy body blow, but also induces a happy glow. Recommended for evening use and a good “Netflix and chill” session. It’s a good strain for anyone trying to get some deep some sleep.
NL5 is often used to relieve stress and anxiety as well as relief of chronic pain. And it’s ability to cause the munchies in even the most fickle eater makes it a good choice for those suffering from lack of appetite.
Jamaican Kush
If growing were a beauty contest, our Jamaican Kush would win the prize this year. This gorgeous Grade A+ indica strain is a mix of Jamaican Gold & Blueberry Kush. It has a funky, spicy, fruity flavor underneath a strong Kush aroma.
A couple or three hits of this Jamaican Kush and you’ll be enjoying a peaceful easy feeling and everything old will seem new again. Great for enjoying the great outdoors, listening to music, watching TV, and getting that summer vacation glow. In higher doses, you’ll sleep like a bear in winter.
Although this strain is known to inspire creative bursts, it’s also highly prized for its ability to relieve insomnia, reduce muscle pain, increase appetite.
