What is wellness, anyway?
Some might say that being well is the opposite of being sick. But that’s just a small part of a much bigger picture. Common wisdom among licensed therapists and self-appointed Instagram influencers is that wellness isn’t something you are; it’s something you do, a regular routine you can practice and perfect.
According to the National Wellness Institute, there are six dimensions to total wellness: mental, emotional, occupational, physical, spiritual and social.
A holistic approach to wellness covers…just about everything. So, where do you start? How do you build better habits? Who has time for regular “me time”?
Whether you’re a wellness newbie, or you’re ready to take the next step on your health journey, at The Grove we have built a Las Vegas dispensary that helps you enhance your self-care routines this National Wellness Month.
Get a better night’s sleep.
Sleep is not only free; it’s a wonder drug. Quality sleep has been proven to have many medical benefits including weight loss, heart health, better memory and learning abilities, reduced inflammation, lower stress levels and more.
But what if sleep doesn’t come easily for you? Studies show that CBD helps you fall asleep faster, and improves the quality of your sleep. We recommend nightly use of Planet M’s CBD Tincture. To use it, simply place a drop under your tongue and hold it there for about a minute.
For an even more soothing bedtime routine, try a white noise machine, a sleepy playlist from Spotify, or a sleep-inducing guided meditation from an app like Headspace.
Soothe your stress.
If you’re fighting stress, it helps to know a little about the enemy: cortisol. The body’s “stress hormone” plays a role in your fight-or-flight response. Too much cortisol can play havoc with your blood pressure, your skin, your weight and your emotions.
There’s good news—recent research indicates that CBD “interferes with cortisol secretion.” Try a yummy VERT Edibles Cookie Square with equal parts THC and CBD to enjoy a nice high with your stress-buster.
Other scientifically proven ways to reduce cortisol include: hanging out with your best
friend, exercising, watching funny videos—even cleaning has been proven to lower cortisol levels!
Ease your aches and pains.
First we have to say, if you’re experiencing severe pain, please see your doctor.
If you’ve already seen a doctor, or you’re experiencing mild pain, we have a few suggestions for feeling better.
Aching muscles? Try Planet M’s Lavender CBD Bath Bomb in a tub full of warm, soothing water. Are your feet killing you? Treat yourself to a soothing spa pedicure. If you’re in Las Vegas, we recommend the 90-minute “Grateful Ped” at Feetish Spa.
For localized aches and pains, you can’t beat Mary’s Medicinals topical patches.
Are you celebrating National Wellness Month with your friends, family, or coworkers? We’d love to hear about it! Stop on by our Las Vegas or Pahrump location and tell your budtender!
